ITEC PARTNERSHIP with KODESPA HAITI
Key Contact in Haiti:  Jean Victorien Toussaint, Agronomist
Assists: Jean Ritho Desir and Jean Romain
Mr. Jean Victorien Toussaint,, a graduate of the school of agriculture at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York.  Mr. Toussaint has been working in the agricultural sector in Haiti for approximately 30 years.

The partnership with KODESPA began with a $1000 contribution from ITEC to KODESPA in 2020.  KODESPA  purchased cacao and cashew seedlings to distribute to 18 farmers (see attached list of farmers) in Section 6 in Petit Goave, Haiti. According to Mr JeanVictorien Toussaint, there is a 65% success rate, to date. To improve these odds, ITEC needs a dedicated volunteer from KODESPA to work with the farmers.Additional investments are required for items such as stipends for supervision, transport, insecticides, fungicide.

Another $1000 contribution was disbursed to KODESPA in October 2021.

NB: HIBISCUS is another ITEC partner. HIBISCUS is a non-profit organization that is headquartered in New York. The members of HIBISCUS are mostly architects and engineers. We have partnered with HIBISCUS to help monitor and evaluate the reforestation program/project that has been established by ITEC and KODESPA.

A Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) was established with ITECand KODESPA. This MOU explained the role of HIBISCUS

Board members assigned to KODESPA: HIBISCUS (Magali Regis and Manfred St Julien) and Darline Augustine. We will need another Board Member for the monitoring and evaluation of our programs in Haiti.
